PS vita: One gaming console dozens of name

A list of some of the other names given the the new and up and coming video game handheld console Ps Vita from Sony.

Just a brief history. Before PS Vita was launched in E3 march 2011, there are several names given to the new version or the new upgrade for the PSP Go which was just released a couple of months before. The rumor of the new PSP version really flared up when Nintendo confirmed that they are on their way on creating or released a new version of their handheld console line the Nintendo DS. They haven't said anything much but they did hint out the 3D feature if I can remember correctly.

Here is a list of the alternate names given to the PS Vita.

1.) PSP 2

Well this name was conjured up in the internet. It was conjured up if I can remember because the leap of features is speculated to be big enough that we can say that it is a new video game console on its own just like what happened with PS2 to the PSX or playstation one. People just assumed that Sony will give the PS Vita a numbered name just like PS2 and PS3 and not a word one which is Vita for playstation vita. It maybe a good speculation but we all know that it didn't come close to the name PS Vita.

2.) PSP NGP

PSP NGP or playstation portable next gen portable is the given name for the PS Vita when there were already news that they are working on a new version of their PSP console series and there are news leaking out straight from Sony or from the testers given the prototype of the new PSP that will eventually be PS Vita. While this may be the first name given for the PS Vita, It may have a connotation that it will be the last PSP version because of the next generation protable given to it or they may just release something like, "PSP nngp" or "playstation portable next next generation portable"(Pun joke intended), or PSP NGP2.

3.) PSP Vita

PSP vita is close to the name PS Vita but it maybe more popular than the term PS Vita in the web, PSP Vita is the wrong term for this next generation portable. I know that this name was conjured up because people who have played or seen the release of the PS Vita on the e3 gaming conference named it PSP Vita and not PS Vita.

There are more names given to the PS Vita which are new psp version, PSP vitality among others but most are just phrases given by people that made a mistake on assuming that Vita means something more and some names given because people don't want to use a term or a name people are unsure if its a real name or not.
